As part of the Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) under the Green Indian Financial System (GIFS) Initiative, the Foundation for MSME Clusters (FMC), in collaboration with the Peenya Industries Association (PIA), conducted an awareness training on Climate Change, Sustainability, and Green Finance on July 23, 2026, at the PIA Training Hall in Bengaluru.

The training brought together 31 MSME owners and entrepreneurs from Peenya’s engineering cluster, representing sectors such as precision components, metal products and fabrication, CNC and machining, electrical equipment, rubber and polymer products, fluid systems, and allied industries.

The session introduced participants to the growing relevance of climate change and sustainability for businesses and their implications for markets, buyers, and supply chains. It covered global and domestic sustainability policies, emerging export-readiness requirements such as the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) and Digital Product Passport (DPP), the business case for a low-carbon transition, local climate risks, and opportunities for green finance.

Through the training, participants developed a clearer understanding of emerging sustainability requirements and the green finance opportunities available to support MSMEs as they respond to changing market and climate-related considerations.
